GO Taiko and Taiko 55

GO Taiko originated from free after school taiko classes at Admiral Seymour and Waverley Elementary Schools in East Vancouver. They are now based in Richmond.

GO Taiko has performed at the Vancouver Chinatown Night Market, Vancouver Chinatown Parade, Sakura Fair, The Cherry Blossom Picnic at YVR, Steveston Salmon Festival, Richmond Maritime Festival, BC Lions Halftime Show, PNE, the FairChild TV All Star Gala Fundraising show, Slocan Unity Festival, and Greenwood Founders Day Festival. GO Taiko always brings a fresh≤ energetic approach to their drumming, and loves to share Japanese culture through taiko.

Taiko 55 formed from taiko drumming classes at South Arm Community Centre in Richmond. This group of energetic older adults fell in love with the rhythms of taiko songs. Taiko 55 has performed at the Richmond World Festival, Steveston Salmon Festival, Richmond Maritime Festival, Surrey Fusion Festival, and other cultural events around the Lower Mainland. Taiko 55 are very proud to represent the power of older adults through the power of the taiko drums.
